In November 2002, Ester presented to the world her first album as a leader, Tristeza de Amar, a work that fuses delicacy and passion in every note. In this intimate work, she was supported by the mastery of Albert Sanz, Pere Loewe and Esteve Pi, with solo collaborations by Joan Soler, Carlos Martín and Ximo Tébar.

 

Tristeza de Amar not only won hearts, but also critics, being singled out as one of the five best Spanish jazz albums of 2002 by Todas las Novedades magazine. In addition, its depth and beauty earned it a nomination for "Best Album" at the 2nd Edition of the Promusics Valencian Jazz Awards 2002 and a four-star rating in Cuadernos de Jazz.
